Over 35 years ago Mark Waggoner started learning the upholstery craft in Southern California, working for various furniture manufacturing companies; La-Z –Boy, Berkline, Flexsteel, Ethan Allen & Stylus. Mark also spent some time learning to fabricate custom cabinetry, which contributed to his skills in custom furniture fabrication. This experience and knowledge gained served to enhance the workmanship and dedication to create the best quality possible.

In 2006 Mark moved to Arizona (Metro Phoenix) to work with IHOP, AppleBees, and Village Inn maintaining and repairing their seating restaurant chains. He also built custom seating for several privately owned restaurants in the area. Mark then expanded into the area of Healthcare and hospitality seating, servicing some of the largest healthcare facilities in Arizona.

In 2012 he and his family moved to the Rogue Valley where he was able to connect and work with Thompson Upholstery, becoming familiar with the particular style and quality that Ben Thompson has established over the last 25 years. Working with Thompson Upholstery from 2012 to 2014 allowed Mark to become familiar with the upholstery needs in the Southern Oregon area.

Early in 2014 Mark acquired Thompson Upholstery, allowing Ben to retire. Mark changed the name to Waggoner & Thompson Upholstery, but continues to upholster and manufacture furniture that Southern Oregon has learned to expect from the name Thompson. Mark wants to thank Ben for helping him master his craft along with the many other companies he worked with. At Waggoner & Thompson Upholstery we believe that our knowledge, reputation, quality and workmanship produces furniture that is beautiful, unique, of the highest quality and we will  continue the tradition without compromise.
